During the 70's

During this decade there were organized different groups of Gay Liberation Fronts and Gay Activists alliances all across USA and Canada. These groups were principally formed by students, under 30 years of age, and take place at University or College. During this time, there were repealed some sexually restrictive laws in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Many of these laws were placed on the books during colonial times, and they banned any anal and oral intercourse, that can be performed by gays, lesbians, heterosexual singles or even married heterosexual couples.

In 1977 Harvey Milk (photo), became the first openly gay in San Francisco. He became a leader in the homosexual community in this place. In 1978 he was murdered by a fanatic.
